| Zluster posted the engine and tranny removal pics yesterday and my face covered in grease (well at least we know who did all the work, lol.). I started into the engine today. Found some interesting things. Can you spot what's wrong here (besides the use of too much rtv)?
 I swapped it out (the later year gear, the one on the right) with one of the extra early style cam gears I had lying around. Decided to take the heads off and replace the head gaskets as well. I had an extra set so I figured why not. Cleaned up the surfaces and the pistons a little as well. 
and for you guys telling people thats there's no reason to ever change out the VTC springs, this is why you DO it. Old on left, new on right.
 
As you can see they will wear out with use and become compressed. I noticed this when I did my TT engine as well, never took pics though. I have most of it back together now. More pics tomorrow with the painted goodies and other new parts.
